PURPOSE:To acquire images of both visible light and infrared light in the same visual field by allowing both the visible light and infrared light to pass through the optical system of an infrared-light camera, separating and detecting the both, and displaying both detection outputs on the same screen of a common display device. CONSTITUTION:The lens of the optical system 3 is composed of a member of ZnS, ZnSe, etc., so as to transmit both visible light and infrared light. A half- mirror 3 transmits infrared light 1R and reflects visible light VL. An infrared- light detector 5 and a visible-light detector 6 converts the light 1R and VL photoelectrically and both converted signals are applied to a display device 12 through amplifiers 6 and 9, processing circuits 7 and 10, and further video memory 11. At this time, signal processors 7 and 10 generate video signals digitized so that, for example, the left half of the screen is a visible-light video 12a and the right half is an infrared-light video 12b, and those signals are stored in the video memory 11 temporarily and read out to display right and left pieces of picture information alternately at intervals of one horizontal scanning line.
