PURPOSE:To improve effect of soundproofing and vibration proof and prevent deterioration of performance by providing an upper discharge flow passage and a lower discharge flow passage on an upper muffler and a lower muffler of a compressor respectively and isolating both flow passages from each other so as to avoid their mixed turbulent flow. CONSTITUTION:Sucked refrigerant, compressed in a cylinder chamber 6 by compressing action of a piston 5, pushes open an upper discharge valve 11a and a lower discharge valve 11b from an upper discharge hole 10a and a lower discharge hole 10b respectively to be discharged into an upper muffler 12a and a lower muffler 12b. Here, refrigerant discharged into the lower muffler 12b passes through a tail pipe 16 and injected into a tank chamber 14. On the other hand, the refrigerant discharged into the upper muffler 12a is injected from a discharging hole (unillustrated) provided in the upper muffler 12a. By discharging the upper discharge refrigerant and the lower discharge refrigerant independently into a tightly closed tank 2 in such a manner as above-mentioned, a phenomenon of the upper and lower discharge flow turning into a mixed turbulent flow can be prevented, and generation of both vibration and noise is eliminated. Further, discharge resistance is reduced, and deterioration of performance due to excessive compression can be prevented.
