PURPOSE:To smoothly rotate a driven unit by driving the driven unit by utilizing the rotating motion of a ceramic element. CONSTITUTION:Metal electrodes 2-5 are respectively attached at a small interval on both side surfaces of a thin ceramic piece 1, two pieces 1 are bonded via an adhesive to form a blank 7, the electrodes of the blank 7 are connected with a DC power source 8, several hundreds volts of DC is applied to polarize the pieces 1, 1. Then, the electrodes 2, 5 are removed from the power source 8, electrodes 2, 3 and 4, 5 are connected via conductors to obtain a ceramic element. When an AC voltage is applied to the electrodes 2, 4 of the outside, a rotating motion occurs at the end of the ceramic. |
