The invention relates to a method for signal generation and signal evaluation by the use of rubber bodies. The object of the invention is, in contrast to the hitherto known method of utilising a deformation-related pressure rise in a hollow rubber profiled piece closed in an air-tight manner on all sides, to find a way of allowing signal generation and signal evaluation irrespective of the particular cross-sectional shape of a commercially available rubber body, that is to say also with regard to rubber bodies having a solid profile. This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that the change of the electrical properties of the rubber body which occur as a result of a mechanical deformation of the rubber body is detected and is used to trigger a switching operation. |
