In the case of a loudspeaker housing, having an acoustic baffle 1 with at least one opening 12 to 16 formed in the latter for an electroacoustical transducer (loudspeaker), it is intended to avoid on the one hand natural oscillations of the acoustic baffle 1 and on the other hand reflections and oscillations of the acoustic baffle 1 resulting from airborne sound generated by the transducer. For this purpose, the invention provides that the opening 12 to 16 is surrounded on the outside of the acoustic baffle 1 by a base 22 to 26, raised with respect to the surface of the said baffle, for fastening the transducer and that the outer surface of the acoustic baffle 1 is covered by an insulating layer 31 and a damping layer 32, the overall thickness of which is somewhat greater than the height of the base 12 to 16 above the outer surface of the acoustic baffle 1. A cement-bonded chipboard material, known under the trade name DURIPANEL, is proposed as preferred material for the acoustic baffle 1. <IMAGE>
