PURPOSE:To execute measurement even when a channel box is oscillating, by placing a specified sensor body at a prescribed position and other position, measuring simultaneously a distance to the channel box by using the speed of sound in an environmental water temperature at both the positions, and executing the measurement even at other position in a different moment. CONSTITUTION:A sensor body 13 is constituted of a distance detecting body 14 provided with a suitable number of ultrasonic sensors 16 in a shape of L on a horizontal surface, and a sound speed detecting body 15 consisting of a pair of ultrasonic sensors 17, a sensor body 13b is placed on the upper part or the lower part of a channel box 3, for instance, on the lower part, and a sensor body 13c is placed at a position different from the lower part of the box 3. In this state, at both its positions and in some moment, a distance to the box 3 is measured and calculated by considering the speed of sound in an environmental water temperature, and in the next moment, too, said distance is measured and calculated in the same way, and an external size of the box 3 is derived by executing said measurement with regard to other position, too, by the sensor body 13c of a necessary place. |
