The mirror of a hinged mirror device cannot only be pivoted about the hinge axis, but in addition can be rotated to a limited extent about an axis of rotation at right angles to the hinge axis. With the aid of a restoring spring force and a stop, the arrangement is set up such that in the rest position, in which the mirror is hinged down, only the hinge axis is active. However, if the mirror moves into the working position it is pressed by the stop from its position parallel to the hinge axis into a position that is angled with respect thereto. Such a hinged mirror device is particularly suitable in constrained spatial conditions such as specifically occur in process cameras, for example, when a slide projecting device that is to be optionally operated is mounted laterally on the camera housing.
