In order to knock out articles still adhering to the mould after this has been turned over, vibrators have been used hitherto which set the mould vibrating. However, under certain conditions, not all articles can be reliably and in a sufficiently short time knocked out of the mould in this manner. To remove the difficulties, the invention proposes that the apparatus serving for knocking out is a hammer mechanism which allows a predetermined number of individual blows to act on the mould. In this manner, the mechanical power necessary for knocking out is essentially determined by the size of the impulse. A single blow or at most a small number of blows is sufficient for reliable removal of the articles.
