The aerating of dispersions, in particular the aerating of fibrous- material suspensions in a flotation apparatus, takes place with a ring injector 2, to which air is fed via air feed ducts 11 in the mixing zone 4. The annular gap forming in the ring injector 2 is thereby aerated on the inside and outside. The mixing zone 4 and the middle piece 7 are offset in a stepped form, the air being sucked into the inner region and the outer region of the dispersion jet which forms, in a manner analogous to a water-jet pump.
