The seal concerned is a two-component seal with a U-shaped foot (19), on the bottom web (22) of which an asymmetric web (21) is integrally formed. The foot end of the web (23) is connected to the outer surface of the bottom web in the region of the limb (21) by means of a cover (26, 38), a cavity (25) thereby being formed to give an improved sealing effect. The seal is preferably used in explosion-protected elongated lights in order to be able to guarantee certain degrees of protection. <IMAGE>
