PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, high-performance camera by installing suitably a crystal filter in an optical path in proper position relation with simple components, and using an external light shield body organically in relation with the crystal filter. CONSTITUTION:A lens barrel part 1 has a flange 2 on its outer peripheral surface almost in its lengthwise center. This flange 2 constitutes part of the wall constituting a camera body 3 to form the principal structure of the video camera body 3. A main lens 5 arranged in the lens barrel part 1 is positioned at the front side of a solid-state image pickup element 6 and an optical image is formed on the solid-state image pickup element 6. Further, the crystal filter 15 for reducing moire characteristic to the solid-state image pickup element 6 is arranged in the optical path of the optical system. This crystal filter 15 needs to be placed at right angles to the optical axis. Further, when the external light shield body 20 is incorporated in the circular opening 27 of a frame 25, the projection 29 of the external light shield body is engaged with the cut 28 of the circular opening 27 to inhibit the light shield body 20 from rotating around the optical axis.
