In order to avoid a high construction outlay and operating errors which can occur substantially more easily in the dark than in the light, a daylight developing machine works using the immersion method entirely in the light and has only one cassette which transmits liquids and gases through angular slots, but no light, because the light propagates only rectilinearly. The cassette is well loaded with the film that is to be developed and then automatically sent through the various baths and washing operations.
