PURPOSE:To obtain a large ice-breaking faculty by a simple mechanism by dropping a weight and a buoy suspended from a swing arm at the bow part onto ice. CONSTITUTION:A hanging cable 5 is laid onto an arm 2 installed in swingable and turnable ways at the bow part by means of a winch 3. A weight 6 and a buoy 7 are installed at the top edge of the hanging casble 5, and ice breaking work is executed by speedily dropping the weight onto ice. With the simple constitution, a large ice-breaking faculty can be obtained.
