PURPOSE:To enable unloaded cake to stack automatically on a pallet by providing the elevating mechanism by which forks for holding the pallet are descended on a car truck moving together with the cake unloading apparatus of a filter press. CONSTITUTION:Forks 12 for holding a pallet are descended stepwise by the thickness part of a cake with an elevating mechanism 13 at the interval wherein the unloaded cake 91 is mounted one sheet by one sheet on a pallet 90 of a car truck 6 moving in the longitudinal axis direction of a filter press 1 together with the cake unloading apparatus 3. When the cake stacking is finished, the second car truck 10 is moved over the car truck 6 to the rear part to put the pallet 90 on the upper side 16 of a pallet-housing part 17. Thereafter, the second car truck 10 is advanced at once and the forks 12 are descended to the topmost pallet 90 of the housing part 17 with elevating mechanism 13, then the second car truck 10 is moved to the back part and returned while hanging the topmost pallet 90. The pallet 90 is drawn up to the topmost position with the elevating mechanism 13 and thereafter the similar cycle is repeated.
