PURPOSE:To separate and remove efficiently heavy metals by adding an aq. sol. of a heavy metal collecting agent wherein >=1wt% water-soluble inorganic salt is incorporated to the waste water contg. heavy metals to settle the heavy metals as water-insoluble precipitate. CONSTITUTION:A heavy metal collecting agent contg. >=1wt% of >=1 kind of water-soluble inorganic salt among sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, lithium chloride, and potassium chloride, etc. is added to the waste water contg. heavy metals, and the heavy metals are settled as the insoluble precipitate and removed. Either solid or liquid heavy metal collecting agent can be preferably used even if the agent is soluble in water.
