PURPOSE:A controlling agent against vegetation virus blights, having no phytotoxicity to cultivated plants such as tobacco, tomato, green pepper, etc., comprising a polysaccharide obtained from a culture solution of a mold belonging to the genus Porodisculus murr. or from a filtrate of the culture solution as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Strain Porodisculus pendulus JTS-3009 (FERM P 7434), etc. is cultivated in a medium comprising glucose, pepton, yeast extract, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, ammonium sulfate, malt extract, etc., to obtain a polysaccharide produced by a mold belonging to the genus Porodisculus murr. A controlling agent against vegetation virus blights containing the polysaccharide as a main component. As the polysaccharide has relatively lower molecular weight, the agent has the higher inhibitory effect on infection.
