PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptive member which exhibits excellent electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics, electrical voltage resistance and using environment characteristic by distributing Ge in the 1st layer on a base side nonuniformly in the layer thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptive member 1004 has a photoreceptive layer 1000 made into the multilayered constitution provided, successively from a base 1001 side, with the 1st layer 1002 constituted of an amorphous material contg. Si and Ge and the 2nd layer 1003 constituted of an amorphous material contg. Si and exhibiting photoconductivity. The distributing condition of Ge in the layer 1002 is nonuniform in the layer thickness direction. The photoreceptive layer has >=1 pair of non-parallel boundaries within a short range and are arranged with the many non-parallel boundaries in at least one direction within the plane perpendicular to the thickness direction. The non-parallel boundaries are formed in accordance with, for example, the regularly arranged reggedness provided on the surface of the base. |
