PURPOSE:To permit prevention of a recording head insertion error surely with a simple constitution by providing a carriage with a positioning means to cope with an ink jet head correspondingly to the ink to be used. CONSTITUTION:Recording heads 31 and 32 are installed on a carriage 1 in such a manner that the heads may be easily mounted or dismounted. A protrusion 10 for positioning is provided near a nozzle 33 on the underside of the recording heads 31, and in the area on the underside near the rear, either one of the protrusions 101, 102, 103 and 104 for sorting of colors is provided in a position which corresponds to the respective color of the recording head. A concave portion 11 in which the protrusion 10 fits is provided on the carriage 1. Also, correspondingly to the difference of colors of respective recording heads, in order to come to the position which corresponds to the specific protrusion of color sorting, color sorting concaves 111 and 112 are provided and, further, near the concaves, color indication marks 16 are provided. Therefore, a recording head of a specific color can be mounted on the carriage 1 without complexity. |
