PURPOSE:To achieve static concentration of three beams on the surface of a shadow mask by shifting the centers of the openings of an electrode from those of the other electrode installed in the same channel. CONSTITUTION:A red, a green and a blue modulation signal are applied to modulation electrodes 45R, 45G and 45B respectively. The modulated beams are then focused by a beam-focusing electrode 46. At the same time, because the centers of the openings 46R and 46B of a beam-focusing and concentrating electrode 46 do not coincide with the centers of the modulation electrodes 45, the three beams are focused on the surface of a shadow mask 49. Horizontal deflection voltage in a form of sawteeth-like or staircase waves with the horizontal scanning frequency is applied to horizontal deflecting electrodes 48 so as to focus the three beams horizontally located at give intervals on the surface of the shadow mask 49 while deflecting them. |
