PURPOSE:To simplify the continuous input operation of picture information by shifting a specific input card to detect the conduction of X and Y electrodes and to store data for each end of the card shift and supplying the stored data to a display circuit synchronously with a scan signal. CONSTITUTION:The (m) pieces of X electrodes X1'-Xm'-XM' and (n) pieces of Y electrodes Y1'-Yn' are distributed on both sides of an input card 38 for display to a matrix display circuit 2 consisting of a display part 4 containing scan electrodes X1-Xm and signal electrodes Y1-Yn and drivers 6 and 8. Then (MX n) units of entry electrodes Zn-ZMn are formed at a non-polymerized part of both electrodes. The card 38 written by a resistive coating material 42 is shifted toward X by a shift device 37, and a detection circuit 44 detects an electrode Yj' that conducts with each electrode Xi'. This detected electrode is stored in a memory circuit 50, and the signals stored synchronously with the scan signals given from a drive signal generating circuit 10 are supplied to the circuit 2 from a selection circuit 56 in order of later productions.
