PURPOSE:To confirm the corresponding relation between a character code and a character with a simple key operation by displaying a list at a display part to show the relation between character codes and their corresponding characters with the input of a specific command. CONSTITUTION:The key strobe signal is supplied to a key input part KEY from an input/output port I/O PORT, and the key return signal is delivered to a microprocessor unit MPU. Then the unit MPU delivers a synchronizing signal HA and a display ON/OFF signal DISP to a display control part DSC. At the same time, the MPU delivers back plate signals H0-H14 to a display part LCD. Thus a desired character or symbol is displayed at the part LCD. Furthermore a list of character codes and their corresponding characters is displayed at the part LCD when a specific command is supplied from the part KEY.
