PURPOSE:To obtain an optothermomagnetic recording medium having a hard substrate made of GGG, etc. and a magnetic garnet layer and a good magnetooptic characteristic by disposing a resin plate having grooves so as to stick to the magnetic garnet layer disposed on the hard substrate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic garnet layer 2 of a bismuth substd. type expressed by the general formula BixR3-xAyFe5-yO12 is formed by a liquid phase epitaxial growth method or chemical vapor growth method, etc. on a hard substrate 1 consisting of gadolinium gallium garnet GGG or neodymium gallium garnet NdGG, etc. A film consisting of Ag or Al, etc. is formed to at least >=1,000Angstrom thickness by a sputtering method or vapor deposition method on the surface of a resin substrate 3 on which groove-shaped guide tracks are formed by a mold such as a stamper or the like. The surface of the magnetic garnet layer 2 on the hard substrate and the surface having the groove-shaped guide tracks of the substrate 3 are stuck by an adhesive agent by which the recording medium is constituted. |
