PURPOSE:To set write protect without giving modification to a recording medium by providing an input section setting write protect from the outside of a flexible magnetic disc driver, a detection section detecting write protect notch of a storage medium and a synthesis section synthesizing a signal from the input section and a signal from the detection section. CONSTITUTION:A write protect detection section 1 detects a write protect notch set to a storage medium and a signal is fed to a flexible magnetic disc device (FDD) control section 4. The FDD control section becomes a write inhibit state and also informs externally the write protect. Then the write protect is set from a write protect setting input line 7 so as to generate a write protect signal. Since the write protect signal is transmitted to the FDD control section 4 and a write protect signal output line 5 by a write protect synthesis section 3 as if the write protect were set, the write is disabled to the storage medium to which no write protect is set as if the write protect were set. |
