Siliceous earth is sieved through a sieve with holes of less than 6 mm dia. and the moisture content reduced to 5-8% by drying at 100-110 deg. C. It is then ground to a particle size of 40-200 microns and combined with 2-20% based on total wt. of synthetic material contg. phosphorus and/or potassium.
