The alternating voltage produced by the oscillator (1) is connected over the winding (S) to be tested, and the instrument monitors and displays the electrical phase angle between the voltage and a current produced by the voltage through the winding. The oscillator produces a symmetrical first voltage, and a prim. component (9) monitors the current which this voltage produces through the winding (S) to convert it to a second voltage which is in phase with the current. A secondary component detects the zero passage of the two alternating voltages. From a time difference between the detected zero passages, the secondary component determines the electrical phase angle between the alternating voltage connected over the winding and the current through the winding, the viewing unit (13) displaying the thus measured phase angle. |
