PURPOSE:To obtain an ink roll free of too dense and smudgy printing, enhanced in dot reproducibility and particularly free of generation of ghosts, by a method 5-50pts.wt. of a hygroscopic lubricating resin powder having a particle size distribution of 100-500 mesh is mixed with 100pts.wt. of a hydrophobic resin compound without moistening or swelling, and the mixture is kneaded and then molded. CONSTITUTION:A roll for an offset press is formed by using as a main ingredient an unvulcanized rubber compound of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber or the like or a hydrophobic resin compound such as an ungeled resin compound, e.g., a vinyl chloride paste resin, which is mixed with a plasticizer or a stabilizer. In forming the roll, 5-50pts.wt. of a fine powder of a hygroscopic lubricating resin such as polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose and methyl cellulose having a particle size distribution of 100-500 mesh is mixed with 100pts.wt. of the resin compound, followed by kneading the mixture and molding the kneaded mixture. |
