PURPOSE:To obtain the titled catalyst component having a high polymerization activity and providing a highly stereoregular polymer, by reacting a specified solid product with Ti and/or V halides and washing it with a liquid inert hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:A solution prepared by dissolving, with stirring and heating, 1mol of an anhydrous Mg dihalide, 0.005-0.7mol of an Al halide (e.g., AlCl3), 0.1-2mol of a titanate ester (e.g., ethyl orthotitanate), and 0.1-6mol of an alcohol (e.g., n-hexyl alcohol) in an inert hydrocarbon solvent is mixed and reacted with 0.1-50mol of a Si halide (e.g., SiCl4) and 0.05-0.7mol of an organic acid ester (e.g., ethyl acetate) to precipitate a solid product. A solid product obtained by reacting the above-produced solid product with Ti and/or V halides (e.g., TiCl4) is washed with a liquid inert hydrocarbon to obtain the titled catalyst component containing 50wt% or above liquid inert hydrocarbon.
