PURPOSE:To shorten time for working and to make the working device small by working a slit in a beltlike steel plate by a slit roll, and at the same time, making bending work of a slit part by a pair of forming rolls to form a flange part. CONSTITUTION:When the working device is turned on, the driving shaft 11b of the slit roll 11 and driving shaft 13a of a guide roll 13 are driven and the beltlike steel plate 1 is carried in the direction of supply. A slit 2 is formed in the longitudinal edge part 1a of the beltlike steel plate 1 in the direction bisecting the plate thickness in the first stage stand. In a working stand, the slit 2 is formed deeper, and divided slit part 2a is opened to both sides of a slitter 11c. Tip parts of slit parts on both sides are pushed by the forming roll 12 and the slit part 12a is widened. When working by the working stand is finished, a flange part is formed in the final stage stand, and then cut to specified length by a high speed cutter. Then, a hole is pierced by a press and a tenon is worked by a broach. Thus, a guide rail for elevator is obtained.
