PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of intake charge in an intake cleaner attached to a transmission case of a power unit provided integrally with a rear wheel axle for a 2-wheel motor scooter, etc. by directing downward an intake port to permit the inflow of cold air. CONSTITUTION:A power unit 30 in a 2-wheel motor scooter or the like is constituted integrally from a single cylinder engine 32, a transmission case 34 extending rearward of the engine, a V-belt infinitely variable transmission received in said case and a rear wheel 38 mounted on the rear portion of said case 34. This power unit 30 has the front end connected to a bracket 40 integral with a car body frame 16 swingably about a shaft 42. In this case, an intake cleaner 76 is mounted on the upper surface of the transmission case 34, and an intake inlet 78 of the intake cleaner 76 is opened downward of the side of said case 34. Also, wind preventing walls 102a and 118 are provided in front of and below the intake inlet 78 to prevent the direct inflow of wind during travelling. |
