发明名称 MEASURING INSTRUMENT OF CONTACT ANGLE
摘要 PURPOSE:To make highly accurate and reproducible measurement of contact angles, by partially dipping a substrate in a molten liquid in a crucible kept at a high temperature and observing the boundary section between the substrate and molten liquid. CONSTITUTION:When a substrate is inclined at an angle equal to the contact angle between the substrate and the surface of a molten liquid as shown in the top figure illustrating the observing condition of the boundary section between the substrate and molten liquid by means of a substrate observing means, the surface of the molten liquid becomes horizontal until the boundary 11 between the surface of the substrate and liquid surface. On the other hand, when the substrate is inclined at another angle larger than the contact angle, the molten liquid creeps up the substrate as shown by the 21 of the middle figure. Moreover, when the substrate is inclined at an angle smaller than the contact angle, the boundary section between the molten liquid and substrate becomes the one shown by the 31 of the bottom sigure. Therefore, by observing the boundary section between the substrate surface and molten liquid surface and reading the rotated angle of the substrate, the contact angle can be determined.
