PURPOSE:To prevent two speed changing requirements from overlap and a tiller from unexcected reckless driving or the like without using any special means by rationally remodelling arranging the operating structures of a shift fork in a transmission consisting of main and auxiliary speed change mechanisms in the tiller or the like. CONSTITUTION:A shift fork 27 is loosely fitted onto a shift fork shaft 26 for shifting operatively a shift gear in an auxiliary speed change mechanism through a cam mechanism 28 in which a pin 34 projecting from said shaft 26 engages a inclined cam groove 27b formed in a boss 27a and is operatively pivoted by an auxiliary speed change lever 29. Also, a shift fork 31 of a main speed change mechanism for operatively a shifting a shift gear of a main speed change mechanism is loosely fitted onto the shaft 26 through a detent mechanism 32 to be operated by a main speed change lever 33. And when the shift fork 27 is set to H position, the shift fork 31 is prevented from operation in R position by abutting against the shift fork 27.
