PURPOSE:To eliminate ghost and flair by constituting an optical filter arranged between a solid-state image pickup element and a main lens with a double refraction plates for trapping carrier frequency in horizontal direction so as to eliminate the need for the correction of aberration of an image pickup lens. CONSTITUTION:The light from an object is formed on an image pickup plane of a solid-state image pickup element 1 through an optical system comprising a zoom lens 6, an optical filter 5, a stop 4, a main lens 3 and an optical filter 2. since the optical filter 2 consists of one crystal plate or two and an IR cut filter, the constitution is simplified and the device is inexpensive. Through the constitution of the filter 2 in this way, it is not required for the correction of aberration of the image pickup lens and generation of ghost and flair is eliminated.
