PURPOSE:To perform high-performance double-speed reproduction by obtaining the playback output of PCM data at clock pitch which is >=twice as large as that during normal reproduction. CONSTITUTION:Rotary heads are so set that scanning tracks of breadthwise center positions of gaps straddle two tracks on which interleaving operation is completed. The two rotary heads 1A and 1B make scans as shown by a solid-line arrow 60 and a broke-line arrow 70 in double-speed reproduction to scan part of tracks with corresponding azimuths without fail, and signals from the tracks with the corresponding azimuths are obtained from the rotary heads 1A and 1B. The outputs of the heads 1A and 1B are written in RAMs 40 and 41 with signals RSWP and WC respectively and corrected. The signal appearing at the output of a correcting circuit 6 has the same number of samples with that in normal reproduction as a one-unit time component, but it contains the half of two-unit time data of the original signal and contains data of every original unit time component, so recording contents are known easily. |
