<p>PURPOSE:To secure timing suited to an operating condition by switching and driving a rocker arm for opening and closing a valve by means of two cams, main and auxiliary. CONSTITUTION:A rocker arm 3 is provided rockably to open and close a valve 5 and controlled by means of a main cam 1 and an auxiliary-cam 2. The rocker arm 3 is controlled only with the main cam 1 in low speed operation, while, in high speed operation, the auxiliary-cam 2 is forced to participate in the control by movements of adjusting parts 7, 10 whereby optimum valve timing can be assured in the whole operation region covering the low and high speeds.</p> |
