PURPOSE:To provide a control device for slab charging having high reliability by providing a control device for discrimination which discriminates the camber in the thickness direction of the charged slab or the bend in the transverse direction thereof and stops the start of chargers when the slab has said camber or bend. CONSTITUTION:A control device for slab charging is constituted of a charging table 7 on which a slab 6 to be carried into a heating furnace 14 by chargers 1, 2 and which can move vertically, the 1st detectors 17, 18 which are disposed above the same and detect the camber in the thickness direction of the slab 6 from the vertical movement of the table 7, the 2nd detectors 19, 20 which detect the bend in the transverse direction of the slab from the movement of the slab 6 by the chargers 1, 2 and a control device for discrimination which discriminates whether the camber and bend of the slab 6 is within a permissible range or not based on the detection signals from the 1st and 2nd detectors, commands the stop of the chargers 1, 2 when said camber or bend exceeds the permissible range and commands the start if said camber or bend is within the permissible range. |
