PURPOSE:To enable to detect the state of a vehicle accurately, by providing a slant detecting switch between a gage unit, which detects the remaining quantity of fuel in a fuel tank, and a meter unit, which idicates the remaining quantity of the fuel. CONSTITUTION:A slant detecting switch 8 is connected betwee a meter unit 1 and a gage unit 2 in series. When an accelerating or decelerating speed or inclination exceeding specified values is yielded in a vehicle, a ball 15 in the slant detecting switch 8 is moved on a conical surface 9a of a container 9. The ball 15 is deviated from an groove 10 and contact points 11 and 12 are opened. Therefore current conduction between the meter unit 1 and the gate unti 2 is cut OFF. Even though the liquid level in a fuel tank 6 is fluctuated and a float 7 is moved up and down, a pointer 1b stays at the indicating position before the liquid level is fluctuated. Therefore, the state of the vehicle can be accurately detected.
