PURPOSE:To improve recording and reproduction characteristics by imposing FM- modulation on an audio signal and adding horizontal synchronizing pulses thereto, applying the resulting pseudo video signal to a VRT, and recording or reproducing audio information through a video head. CONSTITUTION:A main channel signal (L+R), a subchannel signal, and a pilot signal are put together to obtain a composite signal, which is converted into a frequency modulated signal through an FM modulator 7 by using a carrier of 1-2MHz. A vertical and a horizontal synchronizing signal applied from a pseudo synchronizing signal generating circuit 8 are superposed upon the output of the FM modulator 7 to obtain the pseudo video signal in signal format having a frequency band which can be handled as well as record of video information of a VTR2 and a horizontal synchronizing signal of 5mus at intervals of 63.5mum, and the signal is outputted from a terminal 1a. The VTR2 is put in recording mode and the pseudo video signal applied from the terminal 1a is recorded on video tracks through the video head. The pseudo signal recorded on the video tape is reproduced by the VTR2 and the reproduced signal is applied to the adapter 1 to obtain an L and an R signal at terminals AL2 and AR2. Thus, the inexpensive adapter capable of recording and reproducing audio signal with high performance and high quality is obtained. |
