Magnetically guided chain conveyor - has magnets on outside of curves and links of magnetisable material

The chain conveyor travels over a track with one or more curves, and comprises links with roughly rectangular supporting surfaces hinging together. On the outside at least of the curves in the track blocks are provided(9, 10) to generate a magnetic field, and the links(5) are of magnetisable material. The magnets can be permanent, and the links of ferro-magnetic material. There can be magnets on the inside of the curves also, joined to the outside ones below the track by a field strip(11) of material permeable to accumulated lines of magnetic force. There can be a series of detachable magnet units, each comprising a transverse field strip with magnets on the inside and outside of the curve and above and below the strip, the latter guiding the return run of the conveyor.
