PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having excellent sensitivity, electric charge holding power, residual potential, etc. and high durability by incorporating a specific azo compd. as a carrier generating material into the carrier generating layer of a photosensitive layer, more particularly the laminated type photosensitive layer consisting of the carrier generating layer and carrier transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula [Y1, Y2 are respectively alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, CN, NO2 or OH, l is 0 or 1, m and n are 0-3, A is the groups expressed by the formulas II-V, Z is the atom group necessary for constituting a (substd.) arom. hydrocarbon ring or arom. heterocycle, Q is (substd.) carbamoyl, (substd.) sulfamoyl, R1 is H, (substd.) alkyl; (substd.) amino, (substd.) carbamoyl, COOH or the ester thereof, CN, A' are (substd.) aryl, R2, R3 are (substd.) alkyl, aralkyl or (substd.) aryl] is incorporated as a carrier material into a photosensitive layer.
