PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body for electrophotography having high sensitivity and high durability by incorporating a specific indoline compd. as a charge transfer layer into the photosensitive layer thereof. CONSTITUTION:The indoline compd. expressed by the formula [R1 is (substd.) alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, R2, R3 are respectively independently H, halogen, (substd.) alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, R4 is H, halogen (substd.) alkyl, aralkyl, R5 is H, NH2, alkoxyl or (substd.) alkyl or aralkyl] is dissolved as a photoconductive material together with a sensitizing dye or electron attractive compd. and a binder into a solvent. Such soln. is coated on a conductive base 1 to form a photosensitive layer 2a. Charge carrier generating material particles 3 are otherwise dispersed into a photosensitive layer 2b contg. the indoline compd. and the binder to form a single-layered photosensitive layer or are incorporated into a charge transfer layer 7 to form a laminated photosensitive layer 2c laminated with a charge generating layer 6 contg. the particles 3.
