PURPOSE:To simply and accurately measure the Ca<2+> ion in blood, by adding tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane-HCl to serum under an aerobic condition as a buffer and subsequently measuring the Ca<2+> ion. CONSTITUTION:Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane-HCl is added to and dissolved in serum held under an aerobic condition as a buffer. Subsequently, the resulting solution is used as a specimen and the concn. of the Ca<2+> ion in serum is measured by a Ca<2+> ion concn. measuring apparatus. By this method, serum held under an aerobic condition can be used as a specimen and it is unnecessary to care about the preservation of serum. Further, because measurement can be performed only by adding the buffer to serum, a large-scale apparatus is dispensed with as a pretreatment apparatus. |
