PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts greatly by using a feed screw which engages a half nut incorporated in an optical head and moves the optical head by its rotation even as a base for the optical head in common. CONSTITUTION:A hole 6 is formed in a main chassis 1 so that a pickup device body 5 which records and reproduces information on and from an optical disk 2 is movable in the radial direction of the optical disk 2. A guide shaft 7 which supports the pickup device 5 slidably in the disk radial direction is provided to one side of the upper part of the hole 6, and the pickup device body 5 is supported slidably at the other side and the feed screw 9 is provided. The half nut 10 engages the feed screw 9 in the pickup device body 5 while the engagement is reinforced through the operation of a leaf spring 11, and an abutting guide 12 is fixed at the side of the pickup device body 5 and contacts the outer peripheral surface of the feed screw 9. This abutting guide 12 is made of a plastic material and also functions as an abutting guide for the guide shaft 7. Consequently, the number of parts is decreased greatly and the cost is reduced. |
