摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a substrate which obviates swelling and does not produce elute by a liquid crystal by using a substrate formed by laminating the cured film of a curable compsn. consisting of a polymerizable compd. having >=3 (meth)acryloyl groups on the surface of a high polymer film as the substrate for a liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. formed by adding a photopolymn. initiator and, if necessary, a small amt. of mono- or diacrylate, etc. in order to improve film formability and adhesiveness to a transparent high polymer film such as polyester film, to a monomer having >=3 (meth)acryloyl groups such as, for example, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, pentaerithritol acrylate or the like is coated on at least one surface of said high polymer film and thereafter UV rays or electron rays are irradiated thereto to polymerize and cure the compsn., thus providing the colorless and transparent protective layer which has no optical anisotropy and is not swollen by a liquid crystal or does not produce elute. The film substrate adequate for a TN type liquid crystal display device is thus obtd.</p>
