PURPOSE:To detect the decrease in the remaining amount of toner without using any electric detecting means by allowing recessed parts of a driving disk and an associated disk which are mutually out of phase to meet each other when the load of toner on a toner feeding member decreases, and putting a striking member in operation. CONSTITUTION:If there is much toner in a container 1 and the load on an agitator 3 is large when the agitator 3 rotates while shaking the toner in the container 1, the driving rotary member 8 and associated disk member 9 rotate so that recessed parts 8a and 9a are in mutually out-of-phase relation; the roll 18 of the striking member 17 only rotates on its axis in contact with peripheral surfaces of both rotary members 8 and 9 and the striking member 17 does not strike a sounding body 21. When the remaining toner in the container 1 becomes less and the load on the agitator 3 decreases, recessed parts 8a and 9a of both rotary members 8 and 9 meet each other and the striking member 17 swivels when the roll 18 engages them to allow strike the sounding body 12, warning a decrease in the remaining amount of the toner with the sound. |
