PURPOSE:To enhance reaction efficiency, by using a catalyst carrier prepared by such a method wherein a first carrier layer comprising a relatively uniform catalyst carrier layer is formed to a substrate and a crystalline fine granular catalyst carrier is adhered to the surface of said carrier layer. CONSTITUTION:An inert carrier having heat resistance and a large surface area such as silica, alumina, cordierite, zirconia, magnesia or titania is uniformly applied to the surface of a substrate such as a silica cloth catalyst substrate or a honeycomb catalyst substrate to form a first carrier layer. Further, high temp. sintered ceramic with a particle size of 0.5-10mum such as gamma-alumina, zirconia, cordierite, magnesia, titania or thoria is applied to the surface of said carrier layer to form a second carrier layer. |
