PURPOSE:To economically and continuously achieve the separation of a metal powder and a suspended dirty substance from cutting oil, by applying filtering treatment to cutting oil by endless recirculated filter cloth while allowing said filter cloth to run. CONSTITUTION:The cutting oil U in a tank 1 passes filter cloth 6 by negative pressure in an oil hopper 2 to receive solid-liquid separation treatment while the filtered oil is supplied to a machine tool by the action of a suction pump 3. On the other hand, the cake K being the solid component in the oil, which is separated from the oil component and adhered to the surface of the filter cloth 6, is run and moved along with the filter cloth 6 and issued from the cutting oil U in the tank 1 and receives the sucking action of a vacuum hopper 8 and the squeeze action by a press roll 9 to be subjected to solid-liquid separation at a high degree while the cake K, from which the oil component was separated, is scraped off from the surface of the filter cloth 6 by a scraper 12 and discharged. The part of the filter 6, from which the cake K scraped off, runs at it is and is again positioned so as to be opposed to the oil hopper 2 to perform the filtering action of the cutting oil U.
