PURPOSE:To provide the titled material useful for an energization thermal recording sheet or the like by combining an ester benzoate derivative of a specified structure as an electron accepting compound with an electron donating dye to improve the live and secular preservability with a sufficient density of color formation. CONSTITUTION:(A) an ester benzoate derivative having hydroxy groups at the second and fourth positions and a halogen atom at the third or fifth position {preferably, a compound of formulas I -III [R is (substituted) alkyl and (x) a halogen atom], for example, 2,4-hydroxy-3-chlorobenzoate ethyl ester} is used as an electron accepting compound and combined with (B) an electron donating colorless dye (e.g. triaryl methane based compound) and further with a thermoplastic material as required to obtain the desired material. |
