The dual control system for a motor vehicle in which the main clutch 1 and brake 2 pedals of the vehicle are linked to concentric shafts 48, 70 which are themselves linked to auxiliary clutch 1a and brake 2a pedals is characterised in that the auxiliary pedal system is mounted on a common support 6, in that transmission systems 56 for the main clutch pedal 1 on the one hand, and 71 for the main brake pedal 2 on the other hand, are mounted on a common support 49 and in that means introducing play which is at least temporary into the transmission systems linking the main clutch 1 and brake 2 pedals and the auxiliary clutch 1a and brake 2a pedals to the concentric shafts 48, 70 are provided, these means being shafts 61, 58-73, 74 of a crank rod system 56, 57, 59-71, 72, 75 of smaller diameter than the openings which accommodate them. <IMAGE>
