The t.v. has a polarising horizontal true structure. One set of lines (3) provides vertical polarisation and receives an image intended for the left eye. A second set of lines (4) alternates and provides horizontal polarisation and recieves an image intended for the right eye. The signals from two cameras are received and generate a double image (D1,D2) to create the 30 effect. The line structure is produced as a mask positioned behind a photo-matrix emitter panel with a gap that minimises distortions caused by movement of the observer's head. The mask is produced by polarising strips formed on the surface of transparent plates which are then bonded together.
