PURPOSE:To largely simplify the production process and largely reduce the cost by filling a top-open type mono-block battery jar, formed with positive and negative electrode chambers by setting a separator at the center of a cell in advance, with positive and negative active materials. CONSTITUTION:A battery jar 1 is formed with a groove by lugs 4, 4', and a separator 5 is inserted in the groove. The separator 5 is set at the center of a cell by applyin heat to the lugs on both sides. A positive electrode chamber and a negative electrode chamber formed by the setting of the separator 5 are filled with positive and negative electrode active materials. Accordingly, individual chambers only need to be filled with the positive or negative electrode active material, and the unification of the battery jar 1 and a current collector 2 and the burying of conductive parts can be easily performed while the battery jar 1 is molded, thereby the production process can be largely simplified and the cost can be largely reduced. |
